As a drummer, he was sick of waiting for all of us guitarists to get in tune.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve heard of other attempts since then, but it looks like the first successful realization is available from <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20111219065327\/http:\/\/www.technologyreview.com:80\/infotech\/19462\/\">Gibson<\/a>.
